Clash of the Burgers

Long time ago, there was a clash between Titans to fight for supremacy, however that was the past. In this peaceful world we are living right now, tragedy like that won't happen anymore. However, in the fast growing fast food industry, the level of competitiveness has been rising vigorously since the successful achievement gained by newly established fast food chains which results in a generally boost in people's confidence towards setting up a fast food business. The implication of this situation is quite clear which is there's going to be a ferocious war happening soon in the fast food industry...

The war has finally started, today, it's no longer the clash between human nor Titans, but it is the clash between the burgers of the ninja and the little young girl, which is the new franchise Ninja Joe and world renown Wendy.

This Ninja Joe that I went is located somewhere in Sunway Pyramid and it's quite unnoticeable just like the ninjas that like to act stealthily. Thanks to my generosity, I'm giving you the clue to find it. This ninja likes to stay near to toilet bowls which is odorless and toilet that gives out scent of food. Their burger is simple, it is made up of a slice of patty, some lettuce, tomatoes and a burger bun. The special part is that you get to choose the sauce you preferred to put in it. The choices available are black pepper, chili, teriyaki and 3 other type of sauces. In this restaurant, the more burger u buy the cheaper it cost you per burger, so it's better you go with your friends instead of going yourself. The most important part of this restaurant which attracted me is because they are selling pork burgers which are relatively rare in Malaysia(cause it's an Islamic country). Here are the pictures of it.

The logo is quite interesting and cute isn't it?

We ordered three burgers that day : Spicy,  Teriyaki and black pepper
The burger's size is small

For the opponent, Wendy, we ordered two beef burgers where one of them is a half pounder and the other one is a quarter pounder.
Apparently the Wendy's burgers are a lot more bigger than the Ninja's.

If you can't make a comparison on the above picture, maybe these will give you a better idea on the burger's( half pounder) size

The ninja's pork patty is very tasty, succulent and tender which is very special from patty made from other types of meat that we usually eat in this country. However, the size, quality of the bun used is most probably from a cheap quality and the salad in the burger consists only lettuce and only few given which has made the burger lost in its appearance. Moreover, among those three flavors, only the black pepper sauce could actually fit with the taste of the burger itself, the spicy sauce is a complete mismatch to me and the teriyaki sauce which supposed to be the perfect match with this burger, as it is a Japanese burger was a disappointment because of the poor taste of the teriyaki sauce.

Unlike the Ninja's, Wendy's burger is a different story. Big slices of tomato, onions, fermented cucumber, cheese and loads of lettuce. The burger looks so appealing that you want to get a bite on it real soon. Although the patty isn't as succulent as the Ninja's patty, but it has it's own special flavor that combines well with other ingredients. Despite the price which is more expensive than the Ninja's burger, I would still choose the Wendy's as the size and satisfaction it gives me definitely worth the extra penny.

So for this round, Wendy win!!!

Birthday Cake @Taiwan

The reason I'm sharing this cake to you is because, first, it is my birthday cake!!! Second, it is a special birthday cake which is not available in Malaysia because I celebrated my birthday in Taiwan. Here's the picture of it^^
Taiwan's pastry has been quite famous for many years and this cake's gorgeous appearance really proves why can their pastry be famous all around the world. It is a fruit cake and the design is so beautiful that I think it is quite difficult to find something like this in an ordinary Malaysia's cake house. Another interesting part about it is the candle which made of a question mark. By using this candle it can represent any number therefore we don't have to put on so many candles on the cake. The cake consists of two layer in it. The first layer is blueberry paste and the second layer is filled with fruits and cream. The fruits are fresh cause the cake is made on that day and Taiwan is also famous with their freshness of fruit. The taste was outstanding and I really need to thanks the tour guide of the trip cause it was him who gifted me this cake. He's a very nice guy aged 62 this year but he looks young like 40+. I think this has to do with his attitude which being happy always and the good deeds he has done. Wish him healthy and happy all the time.

Plus, check it out, the paper plate provided has the word Happy Birthday written in mandarin on it. It was an unforgettable Birthday, thank you everyone!!!!

Papa John

I have been longing to try this restaurant's pizza for quite a long time ago. Because I'm curious that how does this restaurant get a stand in the pizza industry in Malaysia that is dominated by Pizza Hut and Domino's Pizza and what's so special about it.

Today, I finally stepped in to this restaurant and had my dinner with two of my friends. Since it was just three of us and one of us is a girl, we only ordered a large pizza and a cheese stick. The result is beyond my expectation and it is worth visiting again.

We went to the branch located in Sunway Pyramid. Probably due to their emphasize on freshness of ingredient, they have an open kitchen design in their restaurant and we can see it right after we walked into the restaurant. As what we can see, they were making fresh pizza dough. Then we placed our order. We ordered a 9-inches pizza with the combination of two flavors which is half the 'All The Meats' and half 'Hawaiian Papa', and a plate of cheese sticks. Since one of my friend couldn't eat beef, so we requested them to exclude beef ingredients from our pizza.

Yummy... This is the appetizer, cheese stick. When it first came in front of my eyes, I'm impressed because of its perfectly baked appearance and the way they served it. It was not served in a plate but something like a wooden pan. It is a simple yet delicious dish.

Next, which is the main attraction of the night, the pizza!! As I got my first bite on it, I was totally surprised by many aspect of the pizza. First, there really are differences between a freshly made dough and a stored dough. The pizza dough is so much better than the one served in Pizza Hut and Domino's. It is slightly crispy and it is so fluffy that you would feel comfortable when you are eating it. Next, which is the cheese on the pizza. The description said that it uses 100% Mozzarella Cheese which I think it's same with Pizza Hut but the feeling you get from chewing it is totally different from Pizza Hut's pizzas. The texture is so good and the feeling is like chewing on tuna paste, but in fact it is cheese.

The price of the pizza isn't very expensive, it's just slightly more expensive than Pizza Hut but I think the quality of food they provide worth that few extra Ringgit.

Gino

Sorry for the long wait till I started this real post. Well, the restaurant I'm going to introduce to all of you today is Gino. It is located in the Kepong Village Mall or better known as Tesco Kepong. It sells mainly Italian Food and   I can guarantee it's gonna provide you with full satisfaction(cause I've brought some of my friends to try it and they were all thumbs up and satisfied)

The first dish I'm introducing is it's Spaghetti Carbonara.(There are other choices of pasta) The topping u could choose is either beef bacon or chicken ham. I strongly suggest you to pick beef bacon or mix both of them because the taste of the bacon is so good that it can give a big boost to the dish. But of course even with the chicken ham, the taste of this Spaghetti Carbonara is capable to get you crave for more. Because I would say that, the same dish like this I've tried so far, this restaurant's  is
one of the best in Malaysia.

This is the one with the chicken ham. It's really delicious, oh it's making me hungry again...

The price is not considered expensive for food made of such high quality like this. It cost RM18++ for this. It might looks expensive but, I guarantee you it's worth more than this!!!!!

Next dish is the lamb shank. This have never eaten it before and this is my
first time to try it. Therefore i don't really know whether the lamb shank in this restaurant is considered good or not. By the way I'll still describe how it taste like to you. Well when i first cut it, it surprised me because it was so soft that i don't even need to use a knife to cut it, you can just use a fork and pull the meat off with ease. It taste different from the usual lamb dish we eat cause when I bit it, I felt more like biting a fish. The meat is just too.... soft. The overall taste rather good as there is spaghetti as side dish and since the lamb shank is cooked with tomato sauce, it was like eating spaghetti bolognaise. This dish cost like around RM30 or more.

The third dish which is the steak. My friend, Dominic and I ordered steak for that night. I chose ribeye while Dominic chose tenderloin. The steaks were delicious but I won't say it's very outstanding. What really makes it so special was probably the black pepper sauce that topped on it. The sauce was cooked to perfection, with it's tempting black pepper aroma and it taste a little bit spicy but not over so that you could still savor the taste of black pepper, it is possible to conquer your sense of smell and taste.

This is the tenderloin steak which Dominic ordered. It has more meat compared to ribeye which I ordered because of the quality( I think) and it has less fat in it which makes it taste less juicy.
Sorry to tell you that I didn't take photo for my ribeye  , but never mind you can see that the one that is at the left is the ribeye steak. Apparently the steak is a lot more smaller than Dominic's tenderloin steak. However the qualities are different. It's texture is better, the taste is better and there was more fat in it which makes it more juicy^^. But, I would suggest you to order sirloin, simply because it is the part that have the most fat and I like steaks that are juicy.
