Papa John

I have been longing to try this restaurant's pizza for quite a long time ago. Because I'm curious that how does this restaurant get a stand in the pizza industry in Malaysia that is dominated by Pizza Hut and Domino's Pizza and what's so special about it.

Today, I finally stepped in to this restaurant and had my dinner with two of my friends. Since it was just three of us and one of us is a girl, we only ordered a large pizza and a cheese stick. The result is beyond my expectation and it is worth visiting again.

We went to the branch located in Sunway Pyramid. Probably due to their emphasize on freshness of ingredient, they have an open kitchen design in their restaurant and we can see it right after we walked into the restaurant. As what we can see, they were making fresh pizza dough. Then we placed our order. We ordered a 9-inches pizza with the combination of two flavors which is half the 'All The Meats' and half 'Hawaiian Papa', and a plate of cheese sticks. Since one of my friend couldn't eat beef, so we requested them to exclude beef ingredients from our pizza.

Yummy... This is the appetizer, cheese stick. When it first came in front of my eyes, I'm impressed because of its perfectly baked appearance and the way they served it. It was not served in a plate but something like a wooden pan. It is a simple yet delicious dish.

Next, which is the main attraction of the night, the pizza!! As I got my first bite on it, I was totally surprised by many aspect of the pizza. First, there really are differences between a freshly made dough and a stored dough. The pizza dough is so much better than the one served in Pizza Hut and Domino's. It is slightly crispy and it is so fluffy that you would feel comfortable when you are eating it. Next, which is the cheese on the pizza. The description said that it uses 100% Mozzarella Cheese which I think it's same with Pizza Hut but the feeling you get from chewing it is totally different from Pizza Hut's pizzas. The texture is so good and the feeling is like chewing on tuna paste, but in fact it is cheese.

The price of the pizza isn't very expensive, it's just slightly more expensive than Pizza Hut but I think the quality of food they provide worth that few extra Ringgit.
